With the ever-increasing importance of the Web in almost all walks of life, the International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE) will bring together practitioners and researchers to tackle the emerging challenges in the engineering of Web applications. ICWE is the premier annual conference that focuses on Web Engineering and associated technologies, as well as on the broader impact of those technologies on society and culture.
ICWE’18 will accept contributions related to different dimensions of Web Engineering. We are inviting authors to submit high quality contributions describing significant, original, and unpublished results in the following topics:
You can download the Call for Paper flyer on the following link
Full research papers describe mature, original research contributions. Reported results should be supported by evaluation or validation, and papers should also include a justification for the choice and suitability of the validation method. In addition, evidence of use in practice and/or demonstration of scalability is valued. We also welcome survey papers that compare the characteristics of different technologies or data sets that can be exploited in current or future research. (max 14 pages)
Full research papers proposals should be submitted as a single PDF file in the EasyChair system as described in the SUBMISSION INFORMATION SECTION
Important dates
Short research papers present emerging research contributions, preliminary results, and/or ongoing research that include original concepts, but lack the completeness (e.g., validation, evaluation, implementation) of full research papers. The goal of this category is to allow authors of promising work and late breaking results to attend ICWE, with an opportunity to obtain early feedback on their research. (max 8 pages)
Vision papers are intended to generate debate on emerging issues that will impact Web engineering in the coming years. To this end, they can provide discussion, analysis, criticism, proposal, and/or original positions about relevant aspects of Web Engineering topics. (max 8 pages)

Web Engineering in practice papers introduce innovative and insightful descriptions of real-world applications, case studies, trends in the market, industry applications, and experiences from the field. Moreover, the papers may also challenge the community to find solutions to new problems, thus stimulating discussion and collaboration. (max 8 pages)

Demo papers are intended to showcase innovative uses of already existing tools, totally new systems that demonstrate a novel idea, and/or practical approaches to real-life challenges. All submissions should describe working systems that are based on state-of-the-art Web technology and clearly explain what will be demonstrated. (max 4 pages)

ICWE 2018 invites proposals for tutorials in a broad range of Web Engineering topics. Assumed participants include researchers and practitioners who are seeking to gain insight and knowledge of up-to-date strategies, methodologies, technologies, and tools used for developing, maintaining and evolving Web applications. All proposed tutorials should be half-day (3 hours) in length. Upon special, justified request, we will however consider well-justified one-day tutorial proposals.
The length of tutorial proposals is limited to 4 pages. Proposals must clearly define both the scope and the depth of the tutorial, and they must clearly identify the intended audience, the assumed background knowledge and learning objectives. All tutorial proposals must include the following information:
Accepted Tutorials will have either one free full-registration pass per tutorial or a monetary compensation of 300€ per tutorial. However, the tutorial may still be cancelled if the number of registrations for them is very small.
Along with a notification of acceptance, presenters will receive further instructions on how to prepare a two-page summary of the tutorial to be included in the conference proceedings, tutorial notes to be made available on the conference website, and a brief biography to be published in the conference programme.

ICWE’18 is inviting for proposals for high-quality workshops to complement its scientific program. Workshop topics should fall within the broad area of Web Engineering, but we specifically welcome workshops tackling novel, cutting-edge topics, workshops covering lesser-addressed Web Engineering sub-areas, and cross-discipline workshops. The workshops are highly encouraged to include interactive and hands-on sessions.
The organizers of approved workshops are responsible for advertising their workshops, collecting papers, managing the review process, making accepted papers available to workshop participants (e.g., workshop website), and collecting the camera-ready copies and copyright forms of accepted papers (verifying that they comply with formatting rules). Organizers are expected to physically attend, run, and manage their workshops. Conference facilities such as meeting rooms, wireless Internet and meals will be provided by the local organizers.
ICWE’18 provides workshop organizers with the opportunity to publish workshop proceedings as part of its dedicated post-workshop proceedings to appear in Springer's LNCS series. Typically, workshop papers are 12 pages long and peer-reviewed; other forms of contributions can be discussed and agreed on with the workshop chairs. Organizers who prefer their own proceedings are of course welcome as well.

All submitted papers must be formatted in accordance to the information for Springer LNCS authors at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html and submitted in PDF. Accepted contributions will be included into the ICWE 2018 Springer LNCS proceedings.
Submissions and reviewing are supported by the EasyChair system.
ICWE’18 will follow the single-blind review process. Consequently, all submissions should include the names and affiliation of all authors, and this information is made visible to the reviewers. Still, the identity of the reviewers will be kept confidential from the authors.
Papers submitted to ICWE’18 must not be under review elsewhere while under consideration for ICWE’18, nor may they have been previously published elsewhere.
Submissions that do not comply with the required submission format or that fall outside the scope of the conference will be desk rejected without reviewing.
At least one author of each accepted submission must register for the conference and present the work during the corresponding session.
